In your store, you know that customers shop with their eyes - if a product looks good, they’re going to want to buy it. But do you know how to refresh and care for your sample Stranded extensions? All the advice in this blog is also great to pass on to your customers, so that they can keep their new extensions looking brand new! Are you brushing your sample extensions? Brushing your sample extensions is the best way to keep them looking smooth, sleek and in top form! Give your sample extensions a quick brush daily, using your Stranded Smooth Finish Extension brush. Make sure to hold the extension securely at the top, starting brushing from the ends and moving upwards to avoid tugging or damage. Are you styling your sample extensions? Keeping up with your extensions’ pre-styled look is the best way to showcase what they should look like to your customers! If your extensions are starting to lose their style, give them a quick once-over with a heated tool at a maximum 180℃ temperature: For straight extensions, use a straightener. For flicky extensions, use a curved-edge straightener. For curly extensions, use a curling barrel. For wave extensions, use a curling wand. Are you using products on your sample extensions? Using products on your sample extensions will help keep them looking their best! These are the products we recommend using to upkeep your synthetic and human hair extensions: Sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner (to wash and moisturise) Heat protectant (to protect both human hair and synthetic fibre when using hot tools) Hair oil (a must for human hair - not so much for synthetic fibre) Detangling spray (to help brush through any knots and tangles) Are you washing your sample extensions? Even sample hair extensions need to be washed! If your extensions are starting to look dull, frizzy or losing their style, we recommend giving them a wash. Also, if customers are constantly touching them, you want the extensions to be as hygienic as possible! We recommend washing your Stranded extensions at least once a month. To wash your extensions: Fill the sink with lukewarm water Submerge the extensions into the water Gently wash the extensions with a mild shampoo Rinse the shampoo out of the extensions Apply a mild conditioner to the extensions’ ends Rinse the conditioner out of the extensions Pat dry with a towel and leave to air dry or use a hairdryer on a low setting Are you storing your sample extensions properly? Where do you leave your sample extensions when not in use? Though we know you want to have them constantly on display, they also need to be protected! All hair extensions, including Stranded ones, need to be stored away from direct sunlight and any source of moisture. Hang your extensions up in a cool, dark and dry area or pop them back into their product box! Are customers complaining about damaged extensions? Follow this checklist to see if the hair extension damage is actually down to the customer not caring for them properly! Has your customer… Slept in their extensions? Showered in their extensions? Swam or exercised in their extensions? Wore their extensions on the sunbed? Used excess heat on their extensions? Not washed their extensions? Not stored them properly? Not brushed their extensions properly, if at all? If they have, you need to make sure that you are educating your customer on how to look after their extensions and what factors can damage them.
